چکیده

The Kola Peninsula and Russian Lapland (Murmansk Oblast, northwest Arctic Russia) represents a major sector of the Fennoscandian Ice Sheet (FIS) where empirical geomorphological, sedimentological, chronological data are lacking thus, pattern, style, timing glaciation is not well established. In this study, we present critical review published interpretations Late Weichselian ( c. 40–10 ka) for region. includes, first time, information in Russian-language journal articles (n = 37), accompanied by new Geographic Information System (GIS) numerical age database (spanning 472.3–6.2 that collates known dates associated with advance retreat FIS study area. Our suggests an ice mass existed over during Early-Middle 115–40 ka), likely retreated Ålesund interstadial 38–34 ka). During Weichselian, it advanced eastwards across Peninsula, establishing White Sea Stream before local-Last Glacial Maximum 19–15 Through evaluation existing Last Glacial-Interglacial Transition 20–10 models region, propose was deglaciated FIS, rather than Ponoy Cap or Kara Sheet. collating, discussing, critically evaluating interpretations, paper provides valuable resource to inform dynamics at both regional- sheet-scale, offers framework through which sheet can be constrained. Precise on Lapland, including position Younger Dryas marginal zone, remain unclear due low-resolution geomorphological data. concluding, recommend further work needed form revised glacial reconstruction using high-resolution, peninsula-wide • Critical sedimentary, chronometric Lapland. Numerical 66 ages.

Solar and Wastewater Effects on Zooplankton Communities of the Imandra Lake (Kola Peninsula, Russia), 1990 to 2003

Both heliophysical and anthropogenic (wastewater) effects on zooplankton biomass and abundance of the Imandra Lake (the largest subarctic lake at Kola Peninsula, Russia) were investigated during the 1990 - 2003 period. We used different indexes of solar activity (sunspot numbers and UV- radiation values) as heliophysical factors. Information about UV- radiation values was derived from satellite...

Late Weichselian and Holocene palaeoceanography of Storfjordrenna, southern Svalbard

Multiproxy analyses (including benthic and planktonic foraminifera, δO and δC records, grain-size distribution, ice-rafted debris, XRF geochemistry and magnetic susceptibility) were performed on a C-dated marine sediment core from Storfjordrenna, located off of southern Svalbard. The sediments in the core cover the termination of Bølling–Allerød, the Younger Dryas and the Holocene and reflect g...
